Radical Experiment - 2nd Mile Adventures
Be Proud of Being Abused!
by 2nd Mile Adventures on 08/27/12
Hey Everyone!
What a great weekend. This weekend I was able to get away, with my wife, and explore the great state of Tennessee. Man we're we outsiders in that state, but after a weekend of meeting people from all backgrounds I'm proud to say I am who I am! There's nothing I'd change!
This week we're talking about: Be Proud of Being Abused! 1 Peter 4:14-16 talks about being proud of being abused for Christ. It says in verse 14: "...count yourself fortunate. It's the Spirit of God and his glory in you that brought you to the notice of others."
I've been told and believe that if we're not being "abused" for who we believe then we're not getting out there or mixing it up. A little fight or kick back from people is not a bad thing. I see it as the devil, and his crew, are not happy with you talking about God. Take a moment to read 1 Peter 4. This is a great chapter and explains a little more about the pros of "abuse" now rather then later.
Lets get out there this week and get abused! We all love a good story to tell about a scare so lets add some spiritual scares!
Lets Live Abused and Radically for Him!

1st Round Draft Pick
by 2nd Mile Adventures on 08/20/12
Hey Everyone!
With preseason starting and Sports Center a buzz about football I find it fitting to talk Football. I know what your thinking... 1st round draft pick we must be talking about Andrew Luck! Not today, but what we're going to talk about has to do with choosing. Lots of hours, reviewing tapes, interviewing, calculating, etc. goes into making the 1st round draft pick. This is not something you just flip a coin... Heads or Tail? 1st round draft picks can make or break your year, your team, and your organization. It's a good thing we have a solid 1st round draft pick waiting for us at all times!
This week we're talking about: 1st Round Draft Pick. Romans 8:31-39 talks about our 1st round draft pick... God. Verse 31 sums it up..."With God on our side like this, how can we lose?" Right? How can we lose? God is the solid pick for our lives. He knows more about us then we do about Him. There's no one else I'd rather have on our team then God!
With God on our side nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable - absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love. Don't let life's worries get you down. Give everything to him, in prayer, and let him take it. God's love for us knows no bounds.
This week arrange your offense around God. He'll let you know how to use Him for His glory. Let God call the audibles in your life this week!
Let's choose God for the 1st round draft pick and live Radically for Him!

What Makes You Miserable?
by 2nd Mile Adventures on 08/13/12
Hey Everyone!
How fitting that today's title is the first day of school for kids where we live?!?! I think if you're a kid, and your reading this, I know what makes you miserable. The 1st day of school can be awesome, terrifying, and miserable all at once. You just have to dive in and get it over with. 1 day down and 269 more days to go! (give or take a few)
This week we're talking about: What Makes You Miserable? I found this clip from a sermon, given by Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church in Matthews, NC, titled: The Prodigy In Me.
In his sermon he asks: What does God want to do through my life? He follows this up with another question: What makes you miserable?
Think of something that makes your blood boil, sick to your stomach, or keeps you up at night. This is God tapping you on the shoulder and saying: Here's something I want you to do. When we let God into our lives we signed a full time commitment to His ministry!
Click on the picture above and watch the 2 minute video and then ask yourself: What makes you miserable?
Lets Live Miserable and Radically for Him!

Raise The Roof!
by 2nd Mile Adventures on 08/06/12Hey Everyone!

Are you affirming or defying when you take a look around? Who around you need some affirmation? How can you help someone turn from defying to affirming? Pray for guidance and strength to talk to these people or for guidance and strength to start affirming Him. Ask for help to direct your conversations with them and then Raise The Roof with them!

Nothin' but the Cross
by 2nd Mile Adventures on 07/31/12
Hey Everyone!
We had a great time last week. We set a new record for 2nd Mile Adventures! 258 miles in 7 days along the Continental Divide. Lets just say... it was grueling! That was a test of physical strength. We entered a new 2nd Mile! Check out some of the pictures:
2012 Divide Ride Album
This week we're talking about: Nothin' but the Cross. I was reading in Galatians 6:11-16 that talked about focusing on the cross and not self satisfaction in numbers or denominations.
In America it's hard NOT to put things into a spreadsheet. We're a nation that loves evaluation. We evaluate our success by numbers, but verses 14-16 tell us to:
boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate...
Lets refocus our priorities to God's priorities for our lives and focus on nothin' but the cross. Submit to Him in prayer and listen to what he wants us to focus on. It's all about what God does and not what we accomplish or want.
Let us open our lives, our work, our thoughts, etc. to His plan and do a little cross training!
Live Nothin' But The Cross and Radically for Him!
